This was supposed to be one of those breeze in- breeze out trips where we wont remember much of it years later – but we were mistaken, pleasantly so. We decided to take a weekend trip to Desaru, Malaysia. Its around 2 hour drive from Singapore. It’s for people like us who forget to book months in advance for a long weekend.
It can be a feeling, a perspective, or a physical location — share a photo that says “On Top.”
A White crane on top of an ancient structure. Everything has symbolism in China. White Crane is a symbol of longevity since it is believed to live very long. I was particularly enamored by this bird. It looks graceful and pretty perched on top of a structure against a bright blue sky.
This picture is from Ancient Yu Tuan Garden in Shanghai.
This Photograph is a response to the weekly Challenge by The Daily Post.
We are off to Jakarta, Indonesia for the Good Friday long weekend. Since we can never track holidays and book in advance all the fancy places like Bali and Chiang mai are already booked or way too expensive.
Jakarta was relatively cheaper. We love traveling. We don’t mind going to the non-touristy places as well.
We’ll be there for 3 days so want to make the best of it. We are making lists. On the list are places mentioned in lonely planet, a bar and probably a disc. And shopping. We’ll see.
There are more books to be read and lists to be made. Sometimes I feel just planning for the trip, looking up places and generally just reading up on a certain place is pretty interesting in itself.
Suggestions are always welcome!
